Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Worker / Handyman to join our team. Someone with general knowledge of indoor and outdoor repairs/upkeep, preferred. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our Class-A outlet mall. Your energetic approach and expertise will help maintain a high standard of facilities, troubleshoot issues promptly, and support tenants. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance skills in a dynamic environment dedicated to quality living and working spaces. Successful candidate will be willing/able to work weekends and/or swing shifts. Valid US driver's license with capability to be covered by company insurance required to be maintained throughout employment. Candidates must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening. Duties Basic plumbing, including flushometer and faucet repair or replacement Diagnose and replace basic plumbing parts, including aerators, solenoids, and batteries Unclog toilets and urinals (may include basic plumbing snake usage) Acknowledge and respond to fire and life safety alarms from panels and over radio Repair and replace doors & related hardware, including closers, sweeps, and misc. parts Minor paint and patch work, including minor drywall repair Hang banners and signage, support directory and wayfinding signage updates Replace interior and exterior lighting, including towers and wall packs Event setup and takedown, including seasonal transitions Minor electrical work, including socket, receptacle, and ballast replacements Inspect, repair, and replace small pumps as needed Change HVAC filters and belts assigned Small irrigation repairs, including sprinkler head repair and drip line repairs Perform rounds and take readings as required, document results on worksheets or in systems Maintain shop organization and inventory controls Support move-in and move-out inspections and coordinate with internal tenants, security, and mall management Maintain all equipment for proper operating condition according to PM schedule Able to work off ladders and operate outdoor power equipment Complete daily assignments and maintain accurate records Maintain inventory controls Assist in maintaining roof access Thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures and implementation of these procedures Attend staff meetings Report any/all maintenance and security issues to Maintenance Supervisor Promote and practice safety standards at all times Record and report all incidents to management Provide customer assistance Refer tenant issues/elevations to Maintenance Supervisor or General Manager Other duties as assigned Skills Basic mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and simple systems. Proficiency in basic electrical work, including using testing tools such as ohmmeters. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and customer interactions. Knowledge of residential painting techniques to enhance property aesthetics. Ability to lift/push/pull 40-60 pounds. Possess good time management and organizational skills. Enjoy working outdoors with an eye for detail. Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgment while maintaining safety protocols.
Pay:
$15.50 - $16.25 per hour
