Fiber Installation Technician

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and networking, with the ability to work independently in the field. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems, ensuring optimal performance for our clients. Duties Install and configure fiber optic cabling and related equipment in various environments. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on fiber optic systems to ensure reliability and efficiency. Utilize hand tools and voltmeters to conduct tests and repairs on network installations. Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety protocols. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding installation processes and technical issues. Document all work performed, including installation details, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered during service calls. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in fiber optic technology. Experience Proficiency in mechanical knowledge related to telecommunications equipment is essential. Experience with field service operations, including installation and maintenance of network systems. Familiarity with computer networking concepts, including Ethernet protocols and cabling standards. Ability to work with various hand tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters. Previous experience in telecommunication installations or related fields is preferred but not required. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
