Electromechanical Technician / Automation SpecialistForza Industries | Full-TimeJoin a Growing Manufacturing Team Driving Automation and Innovation Forza is seeking a highly skilled Electromechanical Technician / Automation Specialist to support and advance our manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role for a technically strong professional who enjoys solving complex problems, improving equipment reliability, and helping drive automation initiatives across the facility. Position Summary The Electromechanical Technician / Automation Specialist is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the electrical and mechanical systems that power our manufacturing operations. This role combines industrial maintenance expertise with automation support, PLC troubleshooting, equipment commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will serve as a key technical resource for diagnosing electrical issues, supporting equipment installations, implementing automation solutions, and improving overall equipment reliability and uptime.
What You'll Do:
Electrical & PLC Troubleshooting Diagnose, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms). Troubleshoot electrical motors, drives, relays, sensors, control circuits, and industrial automation systems. Modify PLC programs, perform I/O changes, and identify system faults as needed. Install and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, control panels, power distribution systems, and field devices. Electromechanical Maintenance Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including pumps, conveyors, mixers, gearboxes, and related equipment. Support equipment reliability initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. Assist with equipment assembly, disassembly, rigging, and component replacement. Automation & Process Improvement Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and leadership teams on improvement projects. Support implementation and integration of automation technologies throughout the facility. Equipment Installation & Commissioning Lead or assist with installation and startup of new manufacturing equipment. Coordinate electrical integration, controls setup, vendor activities, and mechanical installation. Perform testing, validation, and proof-of-function activities. Develop and maintain equipment documentation, SOPs, and maintenance procedures. Safety & Compliance Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards. Participate in root-cause investigations and corrective action planning. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence. QualificationsRequired 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, electromechanical systems, automation, controls, or related fields. Strong troubleshooting experience with PLCs, sensors, I/O systems, and electrical controls. Hands-on electrical experience including wiring, conduit installation, motors, VFDs, panels, and power distribution. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Experience in manufacturing environments involving adhesives, chemicals, or process equipment. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI platforms. Experience with industrial equipment installation and commissioning. Exposure to automation design, controls integration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
