In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems that power internet, telephone, and data services. Your expertise will directly impact connectivity for homes and businesses, ensuring fast, reliable communication infrastructure. We're looking for motivated individuals eager to work outdoors, operate heavy equipment, and develop their skills in fiber splicing and network infrastructure. Duties Install, test, and repair fiber optic cables using hand tools, power tools, and specialized splicing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and other construction machinery safely to access difficult-to-reach locations. Read schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately follow project specifications for telecommunication infrastructure. Climb ladders or utility poles safely while adhering to safety protocols for low voltage electrical systems and telecommunications standards. Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and inspections; communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress or issues. Skills Proven experience in field service operations within telecommunications or construction environments. Skilled in heavy equipment operation including bucket trucks and power tools essential for outdoor installations. Strong understanding of telecommunication systems such as LAN, Ethernet, WAN, telephony, and low voltage electrical wiring. Ability to interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints accurately for proper installation procedures. Physical ability to climb ladders or utility poles safely; comfortable working at heights in various weather conditions. Familiarity with schematics reading, electrical experience, and the use of hand tools for precise cabling work.
