Job Description
This job will require travel and use of your own vehicle. Fybercom is growing and is considering adding a new Fiber Splicer to its fiber construction crew. We're looking for a tech‑savvy, forward‑thinking team player who takes pride in high-quality work and enjoys being part of a group that values efficiency, accuracy, and success. Key ResponsibilitiesFiber Splicing & Field Work Strip, prep, and organize fiber optic cables to ensure clean, secure connections Execute high‑quality fusion splicing based on engineering design and splice documentation Read and interpret splice plans, OSP construction drawings, and network designs Perform light level testing, including OTDR and power meter testing Review and approve test results for newly constructed fiber Troubleshoot fiber issues such as signal loss or connectivity problems using proper diagnostic tools Maintain accurate documentation and communicate daily progress to management Operational & Team Responsibilities Practice and enforce on-site job safety standards Review daily assignments and coordinate with management to maintain project schedules Ensure resources are in place for fiber pulling, splicing, termination, and testing Train and mentor other splicers on a regular basis Maintain professional communication with Construction and Engineering Managers Represent Fybercom professionally with coworkers, customers, and the public Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and appearance per company policies Travel is required Job RequirementsExperience & Technical Skills 1+ year of fiber splicing experience preferred 2+ years in fiber/telecom construction preferred Experience with OSP fiber equipment, splicing tools, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methods Knowledge of OSP design, fiber configuration, and assignment Ability to read construction drawings, splice documentation, and technical plans Tech‑savvy problem solver with strong attention to detail Type‑A personality or quick learner highly preferred Credentials High School Diploma or equivalent Clean and valid driver's license Ability to pass a background check Why Join Fybercom?
