Auto Body Shop Maintenance Person - Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Person to join our auto body shop team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, functionality, and overall upkeep of the shop, equipment, and facility. Your work will help ensure a safe, efficient, and professional working environment for technicians, staff, and customers. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of handling general maintenance, shop organization, minor repairs, vehicle movement, and facility support tasks in a fast-paced automotive repair environment. A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability is essential for success in this position. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the auto body shop and facility Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, shop floors, paint booths, storage areas, and parking lot Move customer and company vehicles safely around the shop, parking lot, and designated areas Wash, clean, and prepare vehicles before and after repairs Assist with basic mechanical repairs and upkeep of shop equipment and tools Monitor and maintain air compressors, hydraulic equipment, lifts, and other shop machinery Handle minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry repairs as needed Remove trash, scrap materials, and hazardous waste following safety guidelines Ensure all safety equipment and shop areas remain compliant with OSHA and company standards Support technicians by organizing parts, maintaining workstations, and assisting with shop operations Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on shop equipment and report any issues promptly Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, maintenance materials, and shop equipment Assist with snow removal, landscaping, or exterior maintenance when required Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment Provide support for special shop projects and facility improvements Qualifications & Experience Previous maintenance or shop experience preferred, especially in an automotive or collision repair environment Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with shop equipment and tools Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop machinery Ability to safely drive and move vehicles of different sizes Valid driver's license required Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, or carpentry repairs is a plus Forklift or equipment operation experience is beneficial but not required Why Join Our Team?
