Job Description

MBM Repair Shop is looking for a reliable and organized Shop Assistant to support daily repair operations. You will help maintain an efficient, clean, and customer-ready workspace, assist technicians, handle basic customer interactions, and manage shop inventory. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced repair environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Shop Organization & Cleanliness Keep workbenches, tool storage, and customer reception areas clean and organized. Dispose of old parts, packaging, and waste according to shop safety guidelines. Ensure tools and equipment are returned to designated spots after use. 2. Technician Support Assist technicians with fetching tools, parts, and supplies. Help with basic disassembly, cleaning of parts, or prep work under supervision. Maintain repair logs and update job status in the shop management system. 3. Inventory & Supplies Track stock levels of commonly used repair parts, consumables (screws, adhesives, cleaning supplies), and safety gear. Notify the manager when inventory is low; assist with receiving and organizing new shipments. 4. Customer Assistance Greet customers at the counter, answer basic questions about services and turnaround times.
Check in items for repair:
log customer info, device/model, issue description.
Handle checkout:
collect payments, provide receipts, and explain basic care instructions. 5. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols (ESD-safe practices if electronics, proper handling of batteries or sharp tools). Report any damaged equipment or unsafe conditions immediately. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of hand tools and shop equipment. Ability to lift up to [e.g., 40 lbs] and stand for extended periods. Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, or repair shop software). Strong attention to detail and organizational habits. Preferred Skills (Not Required but a Plus) Previous experience in a repair shop, auto shop, electronics repair, or similar. Familiarity with customer service or point-of-sale (POS) systems. Interest in learning basic repair techniques (training can be provided).
