Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics & Calibration Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and calibrating complex electronic systems, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability across various applications. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in system design, troubleshooting, and calibration processes, contributing to cutting-edge projects that demand precision and technical excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced technologies in a collaborative environment dedicated to innovation and quality. You will support all aspects of the Metrology function including development of processes and procedures for calibration and maintenance of instrumentation. You will be knowledgeable in analog and digital electronic design to assist in development of calibration equipment. You will work cooperatively as a team player on assigned tasks with guidance from QA, Marketing and Development Engineering. You will participate in developing calibration procedures for new product development. As a member of the technical team, you will also be expected to participate on, and at times lead, special research and development projects. You may also be called upon to assist, and at times lead, the resolution of technically challenging product sustaining issues.
Responsibilities:
Maintain company's primary and working electrical measurement standards and ensure uninterrupted traceability to NIST or equivalent international metrology institutes Maintain calibration of company's calibration equipment used to calibrate the Company's products, working with Production, Service and Engineering to facilitate effective calibration schedules for all test and calibration equipment Safeguard and manage the company's measurement assets, including calibration schedules, environmental controls, and equipment integrity Establish, maintain, and improve metrology policies, procedures, and documentation to support
ISO/IEC 17025
accreditation Develop, validate, and maintain calibration procedures and work instructions for laboratory, production, and service equipment Perform and document measurement uncertainty analyses in accordance with the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) Support the selection, specification, and commissioning of calibration and test equipment Ensure accuracy and integrity of calibration records and equipment histories Develop, validate, and maintain calibration procedures and work instructions for calibrated products Provide metrology expertise to Engineering, Production, and Service teams in support of product development, production testing, and troubleshooting Participate in new product development (NPD) activities, including review and approval of test plans, calibration methods, and production release documentation Assist with investigation and resolution of complex measurement or product sustaining issues Continuously improve metrology processes, laboratory efficiency, and measurement capability Develop and deliver training related to metrology, calibration practices, and measurement uncertainty for internal teams Support internal and external audits related to ISO/IEC 17025 and quality systems Work cross-functionally to ensure measurement requirements are clearly defined and met across the organization Communicate technical findings, interpretations, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Contribute to technical publications (whitepapers), customer documentation, or marketing materials related to metrology, as appropriate Other duties as assigned
Education:
Minimum of BS Degree in Electrical Electrical Engineering Technology or Physics (with strong electronics/measurement background)
Experience:
2+ years of experience in electronics, metrology, calibration, or measurement systems preferred Hands-on experience in a calibration or metrology laboratory environment strongly preferred Experience working under ISO/IEC 17025 or similar quality standards is a plus Open to a new graduate who is passionate in pursuing a career in calibration and standards engineering
Knowledge of:
Analog Circuitry including but not limited to operational amplifiers, amplifiers, and oscillators. Digital Circuitry including but not limited to Boolean algebra, A/D converters, D/A converters, and Digital Signal Processors
ANSI C12
meter forms and wiring applications Skilled at: Use of precision measurement equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, calibrators) Data analysis and documentation Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline Clear written and verbal communication Ability to work independently and collaboratively Continuous improvement mindset
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with
ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI
Z540, or
ISO 9001
Familiarity with energy metering, instrumentation, or calibration systems Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar technical tools Training or certification in metrology or quality systems
