Position Brand Description:
The Instrument Technician has the responsibility of maintaining Secondary Standards, servicing all areas, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment in LP1 including Small Molecule, Peptides, Warehouse, Utilities, such as high purity water, compressed air, steam, chilled water, glycol, city water, and sewers. The role requires strong customer service skills and ensuring LP1 equipment is maintained at all locations. The Instrument Technician is also expected to assist craftspeople in multiple crafts.Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Process Instrumentation. (Temperature, Pressure, Flow, and Automatic Control Valves). Troubleshoot and diagnose Process Instrumentation Equipment problems and make appropriate repairs to minimize downtime. Perform modifications and new installations of Process Instrumentation. Manage and maintain Secondary Standards Support communications between CSL, Operations shifts, Maintenance, Engineering, Automation, and site customers to help keep them informed of any issues that could affect them. Performance of work requires strict compliance with safety rules and closely following approved procedures for ensuring cGMP compliance. Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) aspects, support departmental HSE plans, and meet all annual Process Safety Management (PSM) goals and targets. (i.e. PSSR, GIPSM, CPH, etc.). Actively participate in Safety programs and initiatives to support safety culture and drive improvement.Prevent / Reduce
Deviations caused by Operations (Out of Window PM's, log sheets, procedures not followed, alarms, etc.). Proficiently utilize GMARS work order tracking system. Document all work by following Good Documentation Practices. Work with Supervisor and Planner/Scheduler to create and improve Job Plans, ESI's and procedures. Gain and demonstrate the ability to read P & ID drawings and schematics. Identify and report "Human Error Prevention" opportunities. Fully use Performance Management (PM) to manage objectives and development that align with organizational and corporate priorities. Successfully complete the Qualified Employee Program training (e.g., LOTO, respirator, aerial lift, Gensuite Permit, etc.) and maintain 100% compliance with training requirements. Use basic functions of Microsoft Office toolsBasic Qualifications:

Associate degree in Electronics Technology, or equivalent electrical and/or instrumentation work experience Experience with Secondary Standards and/or Metrology preferred Must have mechanical aptitude. Must be capable of lifting to 40 pounds. Must be able to withstand exposure to temperature variations while performing work outside in winter and summer weather conditions Must have ability to read P & ID drawings and schematics Experience with a CMMS (e.g., GMARS), or similar work order tracking system Document work using good documentation practices Commitment to GMPs, especially documentation Proficiency in basic use of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel) Excellent communication skills to both technical and non-technical personnel, verbal and written.Additional Information:
This position requires some shift work. Temporary shift changes are possible. Must be willing to respond to call-in and scheduled overtime work. This position requires working on summer and year-end company breaks. Must be able to provide off-hour support when required. Performance of work requires strict compliance with safety rules and closely following approved procedures for ensuring cGMP compliance. Hazardous operations exist in the LP1 areas that may utilize acid, caustic, steam, high pressures and high temperatures, or create high noise in the manufacturing systems. Awkward positions, cramped quarters, ladders, and scaffolding work will be required at times. The anticipated wage for this position is $21.27 - $41.25 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
