$20-$22 Must be willing to work overtime. Job Summary The 3rd Shift Fiber Laser Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber laser cutting equipment used in the fabrication of bicycle components. This position ensures all parts meet dimensional and quality standards while supporting overnight production and maintaining Guardian's high standards for safety, precision, and efficiency. This is not a seasonal position . The department is a critical component of the company's long-term capital investment and ongoing production operations. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor fiber laser cutting machines used to produce metal bicycle frames and components. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate cutting and production. Load and unload materials, align parts, and verify proper machine calibration. Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep machines operating efficiently during overnight production. Inspect finished parts using measurement tools such as calipers and gauges to verify quality and accuracy. Adjust machine settings, cutting speeds, and parameters to optimize performance and reduce material waste. Monitor production flow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality. Maintain a clean and organized workstation while following 5S and safety standards. Record production data, completed work, and any issues in production logs or software systems. Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or material issues to supervisors promptly. Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Technical training or certification in laser operation or manufacturing preferred. 2+ years of experience operating fiber laser cutting equipment in a production environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Experience using measurement tools such as calipers and gauges. Familiarity with laser cutting software (CAD/CAM or nesting programs) is a plus. Basic computer skills with the ability to accurately enter production data. Understanding of materials such as aluminum and steel, including varying thicknesses. Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required.
