POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an entry level Electric Motor Repair Technician to join our team for an immediate start. In this position you will be open to the opportunities to have on-the-job training in a variety of skill sets related to the electric motor repair industry.
JOB SKILLS WE WILL TRAIN TO
Inspect various kinds of electromechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions. Inspects parts as needed for incoming, outgoing, and quote building needs. Test conditions of windings. Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to: winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, and ovens. Operate cranes, forklifts, and various handheld power and non-power tools. Rewind various kinds of electromechanical equipment, including but not limited to: single-phase, three-phase, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors and transformers. Operate manual milling machines and lathes for the purpose of meeting customer demand. Operates welders, grinders, and various other metal fabrication equipment to complete projects as needed for customer orders. Operate specialized balancing equipment. Complete the required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis. Inspects parts as needed mechanically and visually by using a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, gage pins and thread gages as required for the purpose of meeting blueprint, work order, engineering, or customer specifications. Maintains a clean workstation; daily sweeping, decluttering, and replacing shop materials/tools to appropriate designated areas. A typical work week is 40 hours a week (5x8 schedule). 6am-3pm or 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. Overtime as needed based on customer needs.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED / PREFERRED
Ability to professionally communicate and work well with others. Requires attention to detail and the ability to focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Ability to work in a fast paced & dynamic work environment. Adheres to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws determined by the Company, State, and Federal authorities. Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions and responds to management direction. Completes tasks in a timely manner.
EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIRED / PREFERRED
High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred but not required. Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment. Must be a self-motivated individual. Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. May be exposed to noise levels ranging from quiet to loud. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye and ear protection. May occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
