Position Summary The Lead Calibration Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of manufacturing equipment, instrumentation, and utilities. This position supports calibration programs, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO and GMP. As a key liaison between Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations, you will lead calibration activities, troubleshoot complex systems, and enhance equipment reliability to support the production of essential scientific and medical products. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and complex calibrations and repairs on instrumentation systems (e.g., pressure gauges, conductivity meters, environmental monitoring systems, differential pressure transmitters). Ensure proper measurement accuracy of production equipment, utilities, and building management systems. Coordinate calibration activities, including working with external vendors when required. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, including PLC-controlled equipment. Maintain detailed and compliant calibration records, documentation, and reports. Initiate quality notifications for out-of-tolerance instruments and ensure proper resolution. Serve as a liaison across Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Operations for calibration processes. Train and mentor technicians on calibration procedures and best practices. Audit metrology and calibration activities, escalating improvement opportunities to engineering teams. Recommend and implement preventive and corrective actions to enhance equipment reliability. Support continuous improvement projects within manufacturing operations. Communicate equipment status and updates to relevant stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2-4 years of experience in calibration, manufacturing, maintenance, or a related technical field Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or technical/trade school certification in Engineering, Electronics, or related field Professional certifications in calibration or technical disciplines Experience with injection molding processes, tooling, and equipment maintenance Knowledge of GMP, GEP, ISO, and other regulatory standards Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and automated systems Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation Experience with calibration programs, preventive maintenance, and quality systems Familiarity with PLCs, control systems, and automated manufacturing equipment Proficiency with maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and mentor others Strong organizational and time management skills Commitment to safety protocols and procedures Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs Willingness to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency calls as needed Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas How You'll Make an Impact In this role, your expertise will directly support the production of high-quality scientific and medical products used worldwide.
