Job Description

CMI, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of breath alcohol testing instruments in the U.S., Canada and around the world. CMI manufactures the Intoxilyzer® brand of evidential and preliminary breath alcohol testing instruments. CMI, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MPD, Inc., also located in Owensboro, Kentucky. BROAD FUNCTION
The Calibration Technician is responsible for calibrating products and for documenting the associated calibration records.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operating from written instructions, follow a detailed sequence of tasks without deviation, to calibrate, and test both newly manufactured instruments and instruments returned for service. Accurately records and maintains calibration results and other pertinent information for each instrument undergoing calibration adjustment and final testing. Ensure equipment utilized during calibration and testing is calibrated and in working order. Identifies trends and makes recommendations to production and service personnel. Provide suggestions for changes to procedures and documentation. Report issues to Engineering with the instrument software identified during calibration and testing. Help ensure the technical requirements of the
ISO 17025
standard and of the calibration laboratory quality management system are met. Participate in internal and external audits as necessary. Other duties as assigned. High degree of motivation and sense of responsibility. Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of company employees. Position requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, sitting, and reaching motions. Basic to advanced computer skills, especially MS Word and Excel.
