Job Description

JSG is recruiting for our client in Andover MA a hands-on electronics technician to support R D prototype builds and fast-turn engineering changes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys precision work, collaborating directly with engineers, and keeping a lab running smoothly. Candidates with vocational training or deeper hands-on experience will be considered, as long as soldering skills are strong. Pay $30/hour to $35/hour What you'll do Perform high-reliability, fine-pitch soldering and rework on dense PCB assemblies (SMT/THT; small packages including QFN/DFN/BGA and micro components) Execute board mods and prototype rework (trace cuts, jumpers/blue wires, component swaps, "dead-bug" prototyping) based on engineer direction Use microscopes and rework equipment (hot-air stations, micro-irons, pre-heaters, thermal tools) while maintaining quality and avoiding board damage Support prototype integration work: wiring, crimping, connector pinning, cable/harness fabrication, and basic mechanical assembly into enclosures Work from schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, and ECOs; help maintain an organized, ESD-compliant lab Assist with lab inventory and upkeep (consumables, soldering supplies, and basic test equipment readiness) What we're looking for Strong hands-on soldering/rework skills (microscope work strongly preferred) Ability to read schematics/BOMs and follow engineering documentation Familiarity with ESD practices and standard electronics lab tools (DMMs, scopes, power supplies)
