Job Description SummaryThe Electrical Engineering Technician will be part of the repairs team in Rochester responsible for repairing GE communication devices like MDS Orbit Platform (MRC, ECR, OCR), MDS Master Station, etc. The role also requires to be hands-on in carrying out repairs on the equipment by doing troubleshooting, repairing and testing the unit as per defined procedures ensuring quality is service is delivered to customerJob DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesSet-up and utilize a variety of test equipment for completion of daily requirementsInspect incoming radios for compliance and acceptabilityTest units at component, sub-assembly, and system level configurationsFollow defined procedures for test of assembliesComplete the testing of both printed circuit boards and radio assembliesAbility to troubleshoot PCBA to component levelDiagnose, troubleshoot, and isolate faults with electronic and electro-optical assembliesDocument investigation of PCBA/Radio assemblies to determine failure and what needs to be to remedy the situation.

Able to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams and engineering drawingsRecognize and communicate to supervisor any test difficulties and/or product faults in a clear, concise, and timely mannerBe able to work with Engineering to relate process improvements for changes in Work Process instructions or product or product changesAssist with manufacturing assembly and test when required.

Perform other duties as assigned Required QualificationsAssociate's degree or Trade School in Electronic Technology preferred or Equivalent work experience acceptableDesired CharacteristicsKnowledge and experience with Radio Frequency (RF)Must have the ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams & engineering drawingsAbility to be certified to the latest industry electronic component assembly standardsKnowledge of GE processesExcellent interpersonal, communication skills.

Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
