Automation Maintenance Technician Location:
Southbridge, MA Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30
PM Pay:
$30.00 to $35.00 per hour
Job Type:
Direct Hire We are hiring an Automation Maintenance Technician for a first-shift direct hire opportunity in Southbridge, MA. This role is responsible for keeping manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently, including CNC equipment, robotic systems, PLC-controlled equipment, pneumatic systems, and other automated production machinery. This is a good fit for someone with strong industrial maintenance experience who is comfortable troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and automated equipment in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment. Work on CNC equipment, robotic systems, PLC-controlled machinery, and plant equipment. Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to reduce downtime. Troubleshoot PLC and control system issues using a systematic approach. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic systems. Perform preventive maintenance on automated equipment. Inspect robotic and facility equipment to identify and resolve issues. Read and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Use diagnostic tools and software to evaluate equipment issues. Document maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance activity. Coordinate with production and engineering teams to keep equipment available for production. Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards. Qualifications 3+ years of PLC, robotic, mechanical, or automation maintenance experience. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Experience with CNC equipment, robotics, PLCs, pneumatics, or automated manufacturing equipment. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to safety. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and climb stairs during the workday. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed. Good manual dexterity. Must be able to wear required eye and hearing protection.
