Job Title:
Electronics Technician Job Description This Electronics Technician position supports testing and verification activities on electronic systems and assemblies in a manufacturing or lab-style environment. You will perform hands-on electrical testing, wiring verification, basic soldering, and execute predefined computer-based test scripts to validate compliance with UL standards. The role suits a technically competent, detail-oriented professional who follows established procedures and works effectively with limited formal documentation. Responsibilities Perform testing and verification of electronic assemblies using specialized test equipment, including smoke boxes and heat boxes, to validate compliance with UL codes and standards. Execute predefined computer-based test scripts and verify that outcomes match expected results. Verify and repeat test results multiple times to ensure accuracy and consistency before progressing to other work areas. Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting using voltmeters and oscilloscopes. Read and interpret wiring schematics to support testing, troubleshooting, and verification activities. Perform basic soldering of small electronic components at the bench level. Work with equipment that includes basic control loop functionality. Operate effectively with minimal formal documentation by following established processes and procedures. Carry out hands-on, process-driven, and somewhat repetitive testing tasks with a strong emphasis on accuracy, repeatability, and attention to detail. Document test activities and results clearly and accurately as required by internal procedures and standards. Essential Skills Ability to understand wiring and wiring practices for electronic assemblies. Ability to operate and navigate computers to run predefined test scripts and record results. Basic understanding of electrical controls and control loop concepts. Experience using electrical testing tools such as voltmeters and oscilloscopes. Hands-on testing experience in a manufacturing, lab, or similar technical environment. Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics. Basic soldering skills, including work with small electronic components. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and repeatability. Comfort working with limited formal documentation while following established procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications LabVIEW experience in a manufacturing or factory environment. Component-level electronics knowledge for deeper troubleshooting and analysis. Familiarity with control loop systems and basic control theory. Ability to work effectively in a process-driven environment with repetitive tasks. Interest in UL codes and standards and compliance-focused testing. Availability for a minimum engagement of approximately six months, with potential for longer-term work based on performance. Ability to collaborate with technical teams and communicate test findings clearly. Work Environment This role is fully onsite in a bench-level electronics setting within a manufacturing or lab-style facility. The work is hands-on, process-driven, and somewhat repetitive, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, repeatability, and attention to detail. You will routinely use specialized test equipment such as smoke boxes, heat boxes, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and computer-based test systems, and you may work with equipment that includes basic control loop functionality. The environment supports structured procedures but may have limited formal documentation, so you will rely on established processes and clear communication. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Westford, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $42.00/hr.
