Discover Impactful Work:
The Equipment Maintenance Technician supports Manufacturing Operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing filling and assembly equipment used to produce reagent consumables, working closely with the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team. The role includes preventive maintenance, daily production support, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting, and coordination with OEMs and management of critical spare parts to ensure equipment uptime, product quality, and GMP compliance. This position provides hands-on exposure to automated manufacturing equipment, with opportunities to build skills in CAD, PLC/automation fundamentals, and equipment reliability under the guidance of the Manufacturing Engineering team. Success is defined by safe, reliable equipment operation, disciplined preventive maintenance, and clear communication with Operations and Engineering, with the technician becoming a trusted first responder for equipment issues over time. A Day in
Life:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues on filling and assembly equipment. Respond to equipment downtime quickly, communicate clear status updates, and partner with Manufacturing Operations to maintain reliable production. Perform equipment adjustments, part replacements, alignments, and changeover support. Take ownership of assigned equipment areas, including troubleshooting, repairs, PM execution, and reliability improvement. Partner with Manufacturing Engineers during escalated troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and post-repair testing. Assist OEM technicians during service visits, calibrations, and repairs. Follow all GMP, SOP, LOTO, and safety requirements while maintaining accurate documentation. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Support off-shift manufacturing through participation in the on-call rotation. Help organize and maintain critical spare parts inventory and communicate low stock items.
Requirements:
Education High school diploma or technical trade school certificate required. Experience 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, packaging, biotech, food & beverage, or similar environments.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using tools, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies. Demonstrate safe work practices when using tools and working around electrical equipment. Experience performing preventive maintenance and corrective equipment troubleshooting. Basic electrical experience includes sensors, wiring checks, and low-voltage circuits. Experience using HMIs and working around automated manufacturing equipment. Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or equivalent is preferred but not required. Familiarity with electrical schematics and mechanical drawings for basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks. Solid troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately. Strong communication skills with operators, engineers, and OEMs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) for documentation, communication, and maintenance recordkeeping. Willingness to learn new skills, equipment, and technologies as manufacturing equipment and processes evolve. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to routinely lift to 50 lbs., work standing for extended periods, and use ladders or hand tools as needed.

Compensation and Benefits The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $24.00-$32.00.
