IFF Electronic Technician III The selected candidate will support Combat Integration and Identification Systems Division (IDS) efforts in Norfolk / Newport News, performing a wide variety of electronics-based tasking in support of the U.S. Navy's Fleet Modernization Program and/or Ships New Construction on board DDGs and CVNs for the

AN/UPX-29

(V) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system.

Sample Tasking:

1. Troubleshooting malfunctions using applicable drawings, knowledge of electronics theory, and test equipment such as multi-meters, cable testers, oscilloscopes, and synchro testers. 2. Performing IFF system assessments such as ALOA's, CSSQT's, and MCA's. 3. Supporting IFF Mode S system upgrades on board Navy ships. 4. Answering a call for an On Board Technical Assistance (OBTA). 5. Communicating with ship's force, government customers, and BAE Systems project leads in a professional manner. 6. Teaching and assisting IFF technicians of all skill levels with a positive attitude and a willingness to invest in the future of our expanding company. 7. Paid educational support This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Required Education, Experience, & Skills High School diploma and at least 4 years of related experience Experience with shipboard, aircraft or ground based IFF systems Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and test procedures Ability to climb aloft on board U.S. Navy vessels and lift/carry heavy objects Working knowledge of basic electronic theory Experience with troubleshooting electronic systems, and with aligning and adjusting electronic equipment and components Experience with basic electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, synchro testers, and VSWR testers Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Navy

The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
