Job Description

York Repair, an established company in Bay City, Michigan, is looking to hire a full-time industrial electronics technician. If you enjoy working with your hands and electronics then look over the job description below. Please note, who we hire may or may not immediately possess all of these abilities.
Summary:
Utilizes correct testing procedures to carryout repairs of industrial electronic equipment down to the component level. Quickly troubleshoots and resolves electronic problems and aids in the development of alternative solutions.
Responsibilities:
The following list contains key responsibilities: Operates a variety of electronic testing equipment, such as: DMMs Oscilloscopes Huntron testing equipment Meg-ohm meters AC/DC volt-ohm-multi meters Clamp-on ammeters Frequency generators/signal generators Analyzes various manufactures' schematic diagrams. Troubleshoots and tests electronic components/circuit boards. Repairs and/or replaces electronic components down to board level, such as: diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, other printed circuit components, etc. Verifies repairs using various start-up testing procedures. Promotes strong company image with customers and fellow employees. Observes all safety procedures and uses proper protective gear.
Qualifications:
Preferred level of education/training: an associate's degree in electronics with experience/training in the field.
Other key skills include:
Understands surface mount technology and "through hole" component work. Strong soldering/desoldering skills preferred. Can synthesize complex and diverse information. Knowledge of AC and DC motors, motor application, variable frequency drives and AC servo system. Ability to research parts/availability and other technical information on the internet.
