JOB-34966
Join a stable, well-established electronics service company where your hands-on repair skills directly keep customers' equipment running. This is a permanent role offering consistent, varied bench work on a wide range of electronic assemblies and components. You'll be part of a small, skilled team that values precision, safety, and doing the job right the first time. About the Role:
You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and reworking electronic assemblies and components, with a strong focus on safe and accurate soldering, de-soldering, and related welding processes. Working from schematics, work orders, and technical documentation, you'll restore equipment to full functionality and ensure it meets performance standards. Your work will help minimise downtime for customers and maintain the company's reputation for reliable, high-quality repairs. Key Responsibilities:
Perform bench-level troubleshooting and repair of electronic assemblies, PCBs, and components using test equipment and hand tools. Carry out precise soldering and de-soldering on through-hole and surface-mount components, ensuring clean, reliable joints. Use appropriate welding techniques and equipment for electronic and light mechanical repairs where required. Inspect and test repaired units to verify proper operation and compliance with specifications before release. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and repair documentation to identify faults and repair paths. Document all work performed, including parts used, test results, and repair notes in the company's tracking systems. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workbench, adhering to ESD and safety procedures at all times. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve complex repair issues and share technical knowledge. Key Requirements:
Proven experience in electronics repair or electronics technician work in a workshop or service environment. Strong hands-on skills in soldering and de-soldering electronic components on PCBs. Practical experience using test and measurement equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies. Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Solid understanding of electronic components, basic circuitry, and fault-finding methods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing reliable, high-quality repairs. Ability to follow established procedures, work orders, and safety guidelines with minimal supervision. Effective communication skills for documenting work and coordinating with team members. Desirable Skills:
Experience with welding techniques related to electronic or light mechanical assemblies. Familiarity with both through-hole and SMD rework, including fine-pitch components. Background in repairing industrial electronics, control systems, or similar equipment. Experience working in an ISO or other quality-controlled environment. Knowledge of ESD-safe handling practices and repair of static-sensitive devices. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certificate, trade school training, or associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred. Soldering certification (e.g., IPC standards) or equivalent practical training is an advantage. Relevant safety or equipment-specific training certificates are beneficial. If you're a skilled Electronics Repair Technician who takes pride in precise, dependable work and wants a long-term, permanent position, apply now to be considered.
