Job Description

Project Technicians are responsible for leading, troubleshooting, and resolving issues on-site of Automation Systems and performing automated system installations. The Automation Technician is the front-line face to the customer for onsite commissioning of our automated measurement systems and equipment. Our automated solutions utilize various automation components (robots, gantry lifts, conveyors, AGVs, PLCs) to automate the part measurement process as well as part loading and handing. The Automation Technician will be responsible for the proper installation and startup of these solutions at the customer location. Demonstrate customer service skills and knowledge witha high levelof passion and dedication to completing the job with craftmanship and on-time. Solutions-oriented with ability to work independently in a high pressure, fast-paced and innovative environment. Represent ZEISS as onsite lead during installation of all Project related contentand communicate issues back to engineers and project managers. Read blueprints and electrical schematics. Install, troubleshoot, and run off automationsystems Usehand toolssuch aswrenches,electric drills,and volt meters when needed. Accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices, and leveling equipment. Adherence tostrictsafety rules and regulations,andwearingsafety equipmentPPE. Direct and support skilled trades personnel during the installation of ZEISS automated measurement systems. Ability to mechanically adjust complex assemblies Communicate on site installation status to project manager Work with andvalidatedeliverables of ZEISS contractors & vendors Document system acceptance and provide installation reportto project managerand customer. Prepare custom documentation for the operation of each unique systemand conduct training classes for the customer on system use and maintenance.
Experience and Education Requirements:
Must have a 2yrTechnical Degree or equivalent experienceand ideallyaminimumof3yearsofelectromechanicalrelatedexperience Must have mechanical inclinations,a strong technicalaptitude, and a sound knowledge of PC use and applications Must havegoodcommunicationskills withthe ability toarticulatetechnicalinformationinasimpleandconcisemannerandcreate technical reports. Must have mechanical detailing- reading blueprints, CAD Drawings,etc. Previousexperience installing, troubleshooting industrial electronics,electricalsystemsor computer systems preferred
Working Conditions and Special Demands:

Self-motivated and able to work both independently and alongside other team members, and management Operates with attention to details Willingness to travel tocustomer sites75%of the time out-of-state and work alternate schedule hoursfor up to3weeks at a time. Forklift experience and certificationa plus Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, such as keyboarding; conducting internet or other research; data entry; coding,matching,and filing, and other similar tasks. Be able toliftupto 50 pounds on an daily basis.
