: Applications Alpine Laser, a division of Machine Solutions, specializes in the design and manufacturing of precision laser processing workstations for medical device manufacturing. GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Develops, demonstrates, and optimizes laser processing applications for customer parts using Alpine Laser's precision multi-axis laser workstations. In this role, you will have a broad scope of responsibility encompassing pre-sales application development - from interpreting customer

files to generating CNC motion programs, manufacturing sample parts, inspecting/measuring results, writing application summary reports, and providing recommendations on tooling, workstation configuration, and process parameters. In addition, the ideal candidate would provide post-sales support, including on-site machine installations, customer training, and ongoing technical troubleshooting. You will setup and operate equipment in the Laser Applications Lab to support new product development, process validation, and customer demonstrations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setup and operate multi-axis Laser Systems, including ultrafast and fiber laser cutting systems, laser welding workstations
• Experience with automated Keyence digital microscopes, post-processing equipment, and ultrasonic cleaning systems.
• Translate customer

files to generate optimized G-code-based motion programs using

CAGILA CAM

software for laser processing on multi-axis workstations.

• May design, fabricate, and test custom tooling and fixturing as needed to support customer applications.
• Optimize process parameters for quality and consistency
• Generates comprehensive applications reports. Documents process parameters.
• On occasion, may be required to carry out machine installations and on-site customer training throughout the US (primarily), Costa Rica, and Europe; serves as the primary point of contact for post-installation questions, operation guidance, and troubleshooting.
• Provides technical customer support via phone, email, and on-site visits as needed to resolve equipment, process and part quality issues.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

3-5+ years of hands-on experience programming and operating multi-axis CNC machines; experience with laser processing (cutting, welding, ablation, marking) is strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and a high personal standard for workmanship. Solid mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to adjust process parameters and resolve part or equipment issues.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings, customer specifications, professional journals, application reports, or governmental regulations (e.g., FDA/ISO standards). Ability to write clear technical reports, application summaries, business correspondence, and procedure documentation. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, sales teams, and customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

With or without reasonable accommodation, the role requires frequent standing, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle/feel/reach, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and occasional stooping. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include ability to adjust focus and identify/distinguish colors (critical for part inspection and laser alignment/safety).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primary work is performed in a hands-on manufacturing and assembly environment building complex laser systems. The role involves working around mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and automation equipment, including use of hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment. The environment includes moderate noise levels typical of a production floor, with activity from machine builds, testing, and material handling. Work may involve standing for extended periods, moving between build stations, and interacting closely with partially assembled machines and components. The position requires attention to safety when working with electrical systems, moving parts, and compressed air/pneumatic systems. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as needed.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Valid US Passport and willingness/desire to travel domestically and internationally. General understanding of electrical control systems, AC/DC power, and basic machine safety. Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools (CAGILA experience preferred; others like SolidWorks or similar acceptable).Strong problem-solving skills and customer-service orientation in a regulated medtech environment
