Job Description
Primary Function:
The Automation Technician, under the guidance of a Manufacturing Lead/Project Team Lead, plans, schedules, and manages one or more projects. Oversees technicians, mentoring and coaching, to fulfill schedules, improve costs associated with budgets and quality execution. Is a subject matter expert in either Factory Automation System (FAS), Tool and Die Systems (TDS), Electrical controls or a combination thereof. Harmonizing Commitments and Plans by doing right by our customers, striving to meet and/or exceed expectations using backward integration steps to ensure the goal is our starting point. Key (Essential)Responsibilities:

Provides direction and guidance to the team throughout the project build. Develops processes and milestones the team(s) will use to reach its goals. Alignment and support of each of the seven guiding principles. Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding daily tasks. The Automation Technician is required to be involved with concurrent engineering and routings. Oversees customer project installs. Create weekly milestones for the team members to achieve. Applies industrial mathematics, print reading, wiring, pneumatics, hydraulics and machining theory related to projects. Applies basic and advanced theory related to assembly, controls and machining. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Supports and maintains sound housekeeping standards aligned with 5S applications. Endeavors to achieve assembly/controls time standards on all routings. Comply with requirements of Quality Assurance (Q/A) manual to assure shipping of exclusive high-quality products. Knows basics of safety, sawing, drilling, filing, welding, materials and machine speeds and feeds. Is responsible for training technicians on proper procedures including but not limited to benchwork, layout, drilling, tapping, assembly, wiring, pneumatics and hydraulics. Is responsible for the layout, wiring, testing, and occasional design of low and high voltage electrical panels that may include PLC's, machine controllers, motion controllers, variable frequency drives (VFD's) and other components commonly found in electrical control systems. Panel specification and panel layout design. Demonstrated competence in blueprints, drawings, schematics, diagrams and manufacturer specifications. Debug of equipment. Travel to customer site to assist in installation, trouble shooting and machine set-up. Basic Wiring, pneumatics, and Hydraulics Performs other duties as required. Demonstrate financial acumen appropriate for this position. This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime, evening, weekend and holidays as required per business needs.Qualifications:
Five years' experience in a manufacturing environment consisting of one or more of the following: custom assembly operations, tool and die operations, machining operations, electrical controls, and associated support level requirements. Vocational, technical, or trade school certifications preferred. Demonstrated mechanical/electrical controls aptitude. Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with customers and internal staff. Demonstrated competence in industrial math applications. Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing (GD&T).Physical Requirements:

Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action. Must be able to tolerate elevated noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, breathing fumes, dust, and mist and skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids. Mobility to travel to customer site and to various internal departments. Mobility to travel by vehicle or plane for extended periods of time. Tolerance to stress associated with conflict resolution and problem solving Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Leadership Responsibilities:
