SUMMARY BFS
repair specialists are given the opportunity to explore and support a variety of areas in an aviation repair and supply chain management. Engineered repairs and repair fabrications are specialized maintenance functions that required technical background to select the right repair, select a qualified vendor, manage the component repair lifecycle, and ensure returning articles were processed correctly while meeting technical requirements. This position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(INCLUDING
BUT NOT LIMITED TO
): Ability to review technical reference material and make logical decisions. Assist with managing interdepartmental communication, coordination and physical logistics (adequate or custom crating when required); specifically, to support repairs and/or repair fabrications. Assume responsibility for small to medium projects from start to finish. Establish and maintain working relationships with suppliers & customers. Coordinate on work stoppages and technical data needs between Internal Engineering and External Repair Suppliers or Customers Review, inspect and support processing of returning or outgoing aviation articles under
BFS' FAA
Part 145 and AS9110 repair station. Managing and developing new qualified suppliers to support
BFS' AS9110
quality system requirements. Ensure compliance when applicable with repair criteria, contract requirements, or other published limitations. Requirements
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(MINIMUM) Proven, demonstrable experience with Microsoft Office Suite products. Experience reviewing and understanding dimensioned and toleranced drawings (including flag notes) Experience with aviation quality systems and technical processing specifications. Excellent attention to detail. Desire to learn, seek out issues and take ownership to resolve issues quickly. Advanced project management skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
(MINIMUM) Experience with component repair processing Understanding on contract or purchase order development and change control (Preferred) Passion for the aviation industry (Preferred) Hands-on experience with aviation quality or supplier interface. (Preferred) Experience with aviation processing (Shot-peening, Chrome Plating, Cadmium Plating, etc.) (Preferred) Experience with aviation industry or federal standards (AMS, NAS, AS, MIL, etc.) (Preferred) Experience in an external customer facing role.
