Job Description

Phillips 66 & YOU - Together we can fuel the future What to ExpectThe Instrument and Electrical Craftsman, Billings Refinery works independently and with others to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. What You'll Do Providing electrical and instrumentation support for control valves, transmitters, analytical equipment, motors, motor starters, and other various electrical and instrumentation equipment
Maintaining and troubleshooting power systems, programmable logic solvers (PLCs) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) to safely achieve plant production goals
Installing, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical, pneumatic, and electronic instrumentation systems
Performing all duties in compliance with our Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System, applicable government regulations, industry best practices, and all other Phillips 66 policies and/or regulations What You'll Bring - Required Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to: Climb up to 250 feet in height
Lift and transport materials (up to 50 pounds), bend, stoop, perform moderate manual labor, work in confined spaces, climb, and work at various levels above the ground
Work overtime and respond to callouts, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Work outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity
Work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
Work around chemicals, including acids and bases that may be under high pressure and heat
Perform firefighting duties as needed
Follow safe work practices and procedures
Read at a level to understand written safety procedures, work procedures, work permits, instruction manuals
Maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment items (such but not limited to steel-toe shoes, eye and ear protection, and fall protection) What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred Associate's degree or higher in Instrumentation and/or Electrical
5 or more years of direct experience working as an Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Technician in a refinery or petrochemical refinery
5 or more years of experience troubleshooting power and control systems
5 or more years of direct experience in the use of test equipment and procedures, national Electrical Code (NEC), applicable government and plant standards/regulations (OSHA, ANSI, health and safety), lockout/tagout procedures, unit start-up/shut-down procedures, rigging equipment/procedures/practices, and instrumentation terminology, procedures and practices
Basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to read/comprehend manuals, schematics, drawings, graphs, charts and diagrams Compensation Hourly pay is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position has a starting hourly pay of $43.12 to $50.27, depending on demonstrated skills. Once training requirements for fully qualified Craftsman pay are achieved, the pay rate will be $54.11. This position has a 7.5% VCIP cash bonus target. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. The Billings Refinery is located in Billings, Montana. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of Canadian heavy, high-sulfur crude oil delivered by pipeline, and domestic crude oil delivered by truck. With the startup of a new vacuum distillation unit in 2017, the refinery has 100 percent heavy crude processing capability. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and petroleum coke. Finished petroleum products are distributed by pipeline, rail car and truck. Pipelines transport most of the refined products to markets in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Washington. Total Rewards
