$45-$60/hour ($95k-$125k per year plus bonuses)
Location:
Concord/Salisbury/High Point, NC A Fortune 500 company I'm working with are looking to add Automation Engineers and Technicians into a growing team to help maintain their manufacturing sites across North Carolina and the U.S. This will be 4 on, 4 off 12-hour shifts and you will be eligible for shift bonuses above the stated compensation range. What You'll Do (Basic Job Functions) Diagnose electrical, control, and automation failures, including PLCs, I/O modules, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and servo drives. Monitor and adjust PLC logic and update HMI screens/alarms to maximize production quality and minimize downtime. Support the startup and debugging of exciting new automation equipment and process improvements. Read electrical schematics and P&IDs, collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on root-cause analysis, and champion continuous improvement. Maintain accurate program backups, follow strict change control, and rigidly uphold safety policies (including Lockout/Tagout and Arc Flash procedures). What You Bring (Minimum Qualifications) 1-2 years supporting industrial PLC and automation systems in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with at least one major PLC platform (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.) and familiarity with HMIs and field sensors. A proven ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics. Ability to work rotational shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays to support our 24/7 operations. Preferred Extras (Nice-to-Haves) Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field. Experience with robotics, vision systems, safety PLCs, or servo applications. Familiarity with CMMS systems and equipment like automated roll forming, conveyors, or paint lines. NFPA 70E, OSHA, or specific automation-related certifications.
