The Combo I&R Technician (Copper/Fiber) position in Mt. Airy, North Carolina is a full‑time field role focused on installing DSL internet services, delivering world‑class quality, and providing product education to both residential and commercial customers. Effort, Energy, Execution Keep a sharp axe Role & Responsibilities for the Combo I&R Technician (Copper/Fiber) The Combo I&R Technician (Copper/Fiber) role includes: Installing, maintaining, and repairing Fiber and Copper systems for residential and commercial customers Ensuring proper performance of internet, phone, and (when applicable) TV services Completing pre‑install work orders, post‑install verification, and customer education Placing aerial or buried Fiber/Copper drop wire and installing interior/exterior wiring Following all safety rules and OSHA regulations Working at heights using various ladders and navigating tight spaces Assisting fellow technicians when needed Maintaining a professional appearance and communication style Adapting to new processes and information Using internal systems for work orders and timekeeping Meeting minimum performance metrics (Repeats, Productivity, NPS, Completions) Qualifications & Requirements for the Combo I&R Technician (Copper/Fiber)
MUST HAVE ONX
‑580 or HST‑3000 and all required tools Experience with fiber optic internet, home phone service, and Copper plant/premise wiring Personal truck, van, or SUV with ladder rack Ability to lift up to 80 lbs unassisted Android smartphone and laptop (no Chromebook) Microsoft Excel proficiency
Required PPE:
lace‑up steel‑toe boots with defined ½" heel, hard hat, reflective vest, fall resistor, safety cones Strong communication skills and ability to multitask Compensation Pay is production‑based. Rates will be provided upon resume submission.
