Job Description

Piper Companies is seeking an Instrumentation Specialist role to join a growing leader in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space for a contract , onsite position located in RTP, NC. The Instrumentation Specialist will support the setup, integration, and relocation of lab instrumentation across multiple sites, ensuring systems are properly connected and operational while coordinating with metrology and IT/OT teams during lab transitions and expansions. Responsibilities of the Instrumentation Specialist include: Support the setup and integration of lab instrumentation across multiple sites, including coordination with metrology and IT/OT teams. Assist in relocating and scaling laboratory operations, including transitioning equipment and workflows to new facilities. Ensure computerized systems are properly configured and functional, including creating necessary user groups and system interfaces. Collaborate with senior instrumentation and CSV/CSA experts to execute defined workflows and support lab readiness. Manage hands-on tasks related to equipment installation, configuration, and operational validation, with minimal weekend or off-hour work. Qualifications for the Instrumentation Specialist include: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience installing and connecting lab instrumentation, including HPLCs and Mass Specs. Experience supporting equipment setup and relocation projects, preferably within pharmaceutical or gene therapy environments. Familiarity with computerized systems and IT/OT integration in lab settings; GMP experience is a plus but not required initially. Comfortable working within established workflows and designs, with no need to define new operational roles. Preference for candidates with pharma, gene therapy, or solid dose backgrounds; less suited for those from bioag sectors. Compensation for the

$125,000-$140,000/year (USD)
