Engineering Test Technician Job Description We are seeking a Product Testing Technician to support a time-sensitive testing project involving walk-behind lawn mower products. This role focuses on hands-on, physical testing to evaluate product performance, durability, and reliability under real-world operating conditions. The technician will spend extended periods physically pushing and operating lawn mowers while executing standardized test protocols and documenting results. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, physical activity, and contributing directly to product quality and performance. Responsibilities Perform physical and functional testing of walk-behind lawn mowers in accordance with defined test plans and project deadlines. Manually push and operate lawn mowers for extended periods of time as part of endurance and durability testing. Execute testing related to durability and endurance over repeated use cycles, repeatability and consistency of mower performance, maneuverability, handling, and ergonomics, cutting performance and deck effectiveness, vibration, noise, and operational feel, starting reliability and run performance, and component wear and overall product robustness. Conduct repetitive testing cycles to simulate long-term customer usage. Accurately record observations, measurements, and test results using logs, checklists, or data collection tools. Identify and report abnormal behavior, failures, or deviations from expected performance. Essential Skills High School Diploma or GED. Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined test procedures. Dependable, punctual, and able to meet project deadlines. Willingness to work in a hands-on, operational testing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical aptitude. Previous landscaping experience. Physical testing skills. Work Environment The testing will be performed outside in all conditions, requiring the ability to push a mower for physical testing. You will need to be comfortable working in varying environmental conditions such as heat, humidity, and outdoor settings. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Haw River, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
