In-Person Primary Schedule:

(Flexible Required) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer/Technician to support network upgrades and projects in the Greensboro-High Point market. Our work focus heavily on hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) infrastructure. This role requires a dependable professional with strong technical skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently during overnight hours. Primary Responsibilities Fiber Splicing & Maintenance Prepare and splice fiber optic cables (loose tube, ribbon, plenum, etc.) Perform mid-sheath and ring cuts Install, repair, and maintain fiber enclosures (new and existing) Ensure all work meets customer and company standards Aerial & Underground Splicing Access and splice fiber in aerial and underground environments Operate bucket trucks, ladders, and related equipment Testing & Troubleshooting Perform testing using OTDRs, OLTS, fiber identifiers, and power meters Diagnose and repair network issues Support node splits and system upgrades during maintenance windows Documentation & Reporting Read and interpret splice matrices and design drawings Complete as-builts and job documentation Maintain accurate records using MS Office and SharePoint Safety & Compliance Work safely around live fiber and active networks Follow all safety, traffic control, and customer requirements Required Experience Minimum 2 years of OSP fiber splicing experience Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and restoration Prior HFC and node split experience strongly preferred Applicants must meet experience requirements Technical Skills Proficient with fusion splicers and fiber test equipment Ability to read construction prints and splicing diagrams Comfortable operating aerial lifts and bucket trucks Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint) General Skills & Expectations Reliable and self-motivated Able to work independently overnight Strong attention to detail and quality Excellent time management Comfortable working in fast-paced, outage-driven environments Flexible schedule required (night/weekend work) Job Conditions Primary work area: Greensboro / High Point, NC Occasional travel within North Carolina Primarily overnight/third shift Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Outdoor work in varying weather conditions Equipment Used Fusion splicers OTDR and fiber test sets Aerial lifts / bucket trucks Standard safety equipment
