POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Engineering Tech is responsible and accountable for generating sample routers, New Product Set-up, creating Template and Pad drawings for customer approval as well as production, CNC programing, daily production projects and problem solving and assisting QC with production issues. The position requires active participation in continuous improvement initiatives, structured problem-solving, and training activities to increase revenue, improve efficiency, and reduce operational risk. Time will be spent 60% in the production and 40% computer and office work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Equipment Reliability & Advanced Troubleshooting Act as the technical escalation point for chronic, complex equipment issues Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related failures Perform in-depth machine evaluations and properly route corrective actions Track temporary fixes (Corrective Actions) and drive them to permanent countermeasures Become subject matter expert on production by learning and running each piece of equipment Engineering Support & Continuous Improvement Support new and existing equipment installs, upgrades, and validations Design, fabricate, assemble, and test proof-of-concept solutions Participate in Kaizen and CI initiatives across all departments Standards, Quality & Documentation Verify correct components, hardware, and installation methods Reject sub-standard work and push for proper resolution—not workarounds Enforce equipment and design standards; flag and correct deviations Assist to Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides and technical documentation Generate clear technical summaries of issues, findings, and actions Fabrication, Design & Technical Support Create Sample and Production drawings Create and update CAD drawings both New Product Set-Up and production Program CNC Learn and operate Pad production equipment
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
Required / Strongly Preferred 1+ year as Engineering Technician in production environment Strong troubleshooting experience with automated and manual production equipment Working knowledge of: Mechanical systems Electrical systems Pneumatics Sensors, motors, and basic controls Ability to read and interpret: Customer supplied design drawings Experience with precision measurement tools and multimeters Comfortable working independently on complex technical problems Preferred A.S. degree in Engineering Technology or Exposure to equipment upgrades, process improvements, or CI work Familiarity with CAD or technical documentation Experience with reliability, root cause, or continuous improvement methods

$58,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
