We are hiring an experienced Fiber Technician II to serve as a technical lead on field crews performing maintenance and repair work on active fiber networks. This role is the senior technical presence on the job: you will be running the work, guiding less experienced technicians, and handling the most demanding repair tasks without needing to be managed closely. Compensation & Benefits Overtime opportunities available On-call pay provided Take-home vehicle provided Full health care coverage W-2 direct hire Competitive pay with opportunity for career advancement Responsibilities Respond to fiber damage and outage events and lead repair from start to finish Perform OTDR testing to isolate faults and assess damage on active networks Conduct fusion splicing and emergency restoration splicing on damaged fiber Blow new fiber through repaired or replaced conduit sections Confirm connectivity and validate network restoration after repairs Perform damage investigation and document findings accurately Direct Fiber Technician I and other crew members on excavation, conduit repair, and site work Serve as point of contact between the ISP and customer when on site, communicate clearly and professionally ahead of and during arrival Identify scope changes, safety issues, or complications and communicate them to project management What We're Looking For 3+ years of hands-on fiber or telecom field experience required Proficient with air-blown fiber networks Experienced with OTDR equipment and fiber fault isolation Fusion splicing experience required Comfortable leading less experienced technicians on job sites Ability to read construction prints and work orders Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required Self-directed and independent

Pay:

$25.00 - $32.00 per hour
