About the Role Join our team as a Field Service Instrument Technician, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of critical medical equipment. You will provide essential on-site support, utilizing your technical aptitude to ensure instrumentation remains in peak condition for healthcare providers. Responsibilities Perform precise inspections, repairs, and maintenance on surgical instruments using specialized tools like grinding and buffing equipment. Execute soldering and mechanical adjustments to restore instrument functionality, ensuring high standards of quality and patient safety. Operate and maintain a mobile service unit, ensuring all safety protocols and DOT regulations are strictly followed during travel. Collaborate directly with hospital staff to address service needs, providing timely solutions that minimize equipment downtime. Document all repair activities accurately, maintaining compliance with internal standards and customer credentialing requirements. Adapt to varying work environments, including mobile labs and hospital clinical settings, while maintaining a professional and efficient workspace. Qualifications Required Skills High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in repair, assembly, or technical maintenance roles. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a DOT medical examination. Must be at least 21 years old to meet commercial driving requirements. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including early hours and occasional travel. Preferred Skills Prior experience in small engine, electronics, or automotive repair is highly valued. Demonstrated manual dexterity and a strong attention to detail in mechanical tasks. Familiarity with sterile processing or healthcare-related technical environments. Proven ability to learn new technical skills quickly through on-the-job training.
