Software Technician 3
Location:
Sanford, NC 27330 (On-Site)
Duration:
24 Months+ (Possible Extension)
Daily Schedule:
 First Shift 8AM
  • 4PM.

Position's Contributions to
Work Group:
  • Enable machine software and tuning development
  • Support Integration engineers and Endurance operations
  • Keep machines updated (machine/display/network software) to drive timely issue discovery and validation Reason/motivation for request:
  • Critical role to ensure high quality machines.

Typical task breakdown:
  • Complete software testing and development tasks required to meet program deliverables.
  • Must climb in and out of machines repeatedly.
  • Each day could involve all machine work, all lab work, or more likely a mixture of both.
  • Meetings for this role will be minimized, as this person is expected to be actively focusing on the tasks outlined, and as directed by the primary engineer(s).
Interaction with team:
  • Daily interaction with Integration engineers.
  • A few days per week interacting with Endurance Operators to flash machines and discuss issues.
  • Network among relevant teams to ensure alignment of expectations and results. Team Structure
  • Team of 5 integration engineers and 2 linkage engineers.
External team of Software architects who release test, concept, and production versions.
Work environment:
  • Desk in the lab, Prove Design shop and Endurance area on campus.
Education & Experience Required:
  • Years of experience: 5-7 years experience required
  • Associate's degree in Agricultural Systems, Automotive Systems, or Computer Technology or equivalent training required.
  • Do you accept internships as job experience: Yes Top 3 Skills (Required)
  • An understanding of serial protocols and experience with
J1939 CAN
communications or equivalent protocol.
  • One year of experience with software testing and development.
  • Familiar with Vector tools such as CANape and CANalyzer in testing or troubleshooting CAN data link communications on machine. Additional Technical Skills (Required)
  • Experience with C/C++ or Matlab Simulink desired.
  • Reading schematics
  • Basic abilities with hand tools, soldering, working with electrical connectors Soft Skills (Required)
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Capable of juggling multiple tasks and/or projects at the same time.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong documentation and tracking abilities.
  • Strong people skills and emotional intelligence.
Pay:
$23.00
  • $26.
00 per hour
