Job Description
Sofidel America is a leading manufacturer of high-quality tissue products for domestic and hygienic use. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Maintenance Technician - Electrical to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our advanced manufacturing equipment. As a Maintenance Technician - Electrical , you will oversee the electrical functionality of facility equipment, ensuring reliable operation through preventive and corrective maintenance. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining automation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC input/output modules, and related control wiring. Configure, troubleshoot, and repair motors, motor control centers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and soft-starts up to 4160V. Maintain and troubleshoot position feedback devices, encoders, load cells, hydraulic systems, natural gas burners, and boiler control systems. Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot pressure, level, flow, temperature, consistency, conductivity, turbidity, and pH transmitters. Tune process control loops and machine control systems for optimal performance. Program, configure, and troubleshoot DCS, PLC, and HMI interfaces. Modify control logic in ladder logic, block logic, sequential logic, and statement logic. Diagnose and maintain communication protocols, including Profibus, serial, and industrial Ethernet. Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) and associated conveyor systems. Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures and proper use of PPE. Assist in safety investigations and promote a clean, organized work environment.Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a related field preferred. Minimum 3 years of electrical experience in controls or instrumentation. Experience with PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems required. Preferred experience with computerized maintenance systems, packaging equipment, and PLC programming, welding, or machining. Strong knowledge of manufacturing safety procedures including lockout/tagout, confined spaces, and PPE. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to temperature extremes, loud noise, compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (team lifting and crane assistance required for heavier loads). Able to bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach overhead as needed. Must comply with PPE requirements and be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with overtime as needed.What We Offer:
