Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance & Controls Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and control equipment within our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining plant equipment, automation systems, and facility electrical systems to ensure safe and reliable operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with industrial electrical systems, PLC programming, drives, and troubleshooting automation equipment in a manufacturing environment. Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical & Equipment Maintenance Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and plant equipment. Diagnose and repair motors, drives, inverters, controllers, heaters, lighting systems, and other electrical components. Maintain interior and exterior facility lighting systems. Perform installation, repair, adjustment, rebuilding, and replacement of electrical equipment. Automation & Control Systems Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems, VFDs, I/O modules, control panels, and communication networks . Program, maintain, upgrade, and replace PLC and control system components. Diagnose and repair control system issues using appropriate software and computer systems. Support and maintain plant SCADA and control software systems . Computer & Network Systems Maintain plant computers, printers, barcode systems, and network communication systems . Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware when necessary. Preventive Maintenance & Documentation Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) and equipment calibrations. Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders. Support ISO compliance and calibration requirements. Operations Support Coordinate with outside vendors for electrical equipment repair and service. Assist other departments with electrical troubleshooting and equipment issues. Support plant shutdowns by coordinating tasks, prioritizing work, and ensuring parts and materials are available. Purchase maintenance supplies when necessary. Safety & Compliance Follow plant safety procedures and lockout/tagout (flag) procedures . Maintain OSHA safety and housekeeping standards. Support the plant spill prevention team. Promote and follow all plant and departmental policies. Additional Duties Participate in the maintenance on-call rotation schedule . Assist with training employees when necessary. Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Reporting Structure Reports to:
Lead Technician or Maintenance Manager Works closely with: Maintenance team members and other plant departments Work Schedule Standard schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off Must be willing to: Work occasional overtime Work alternate shifts if required Participate in an on-call rotation Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Ability to pass reading, mechanical, and electrical aptitude tests Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Associate's or advanced degree in: Electrical Technology Electromechanical Technology Electronics Technology Previous experience as an industrial electrician or maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment Experience with: RSLogix (Allen-Bradley PLC systems) Wonderware SCADA DeviceNet communication systems Ability to troubleshoot board-level electronic components Experience building or repairing computer systems Skills & Competencies Industrial electrical troubleshooting PLC programming and diagnostics Control system maintenance Industrial automation knowledge Computer and networking skills Strong safety awareness Ability to manage multiple priorities ✔ Competitive candidates will have strong electrical troubleshooting experience, PLC knowledge, and manufacturing maintenance experience.
