Job Description

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.
Job Summary:
Maintain current production standards in efficiency and quality on all loom sets.
Essential Functions:
Perform the following duties according to
ISO 9001
work instructions and standards: Patrol assigned set, repair and start looms. Set pick clocks to the correct shift and put a shift sticker on the cloth. Check cloth for defects every hour, putting stickers on cloth. Check for defect and sign cloth defect ticket as they come to the looms. Make all required declarations in Barco. Flag looms for technician to check picks at the beginning of all orders. Flag loom for technician when having mechanical or electrical problems and note time on technician card. Communicate with oncoming weaver about problem looms. Call for technician at warpout to clean race and reed. Call warp replacement for breakouts. Perform other duties as assigned Work scheduled overtime.
Safety:
Report all job related injuries to the supervisor immediately. Report any safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs, which identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by the Company. Maintain 5 S standards.
Qualifications:
Experience in doffing, pattern changing, weaving. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Good communication skills and ability to get along with others
