Technician - 1st Shift - John Deere Electronic Solutions This is a high-level, long-term 2+ year contract opportunity paying up to $40/hr , including 2 Weeks of PTO . In this role, you will be a key technical resource for design engineering, focusing on prototype bring-up, PCB assembly troubleshooting, and debugging using advanced tools like the TAKAYA flying probe system.

Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:

Up to $40/hr (W2).

Location:

100% Onsite in Fargo, ND.

Duration:

2+ Years.

Shift:

1st Shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).

Schedule:

Monday - Friday.

Core Responsibilities Electronic Troubleshooting:

Perform inspection, testing, and failure analysis on defective electronic assemblies to determine root causes.

Software & Programming:

Spend 60-70% of your time on a PC, utilizing

TAKAYA APT-1600FD

software to create programs for flying probe testers.

Prototype Support:

Build test harnesses, loads, fixtures, and circuit boards to support new product designs.

Rework & Repair:

Rework products to industry standards and maintain/repair essential lab equipment.

Documentation:

Document all work performed, update test records for prototype products, and summarize data for engineering teams.

Engineering Design:

Design and build advanced engineering test boxes and conduct manual tests of PCBs according to engineering schematics.

Required Skills & Experience Education:

A.S. in Electronics, a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year in electronics manufacturing or engineering (3+ years preferred).

Technical Skills:

Proven ability to troubleshoot PCB subassembly failure modes and read complex engineering schematics/diagrams.

Equipment Proficiency:

Strong understanding of multimeters, oscilloscopes, and the ability to comprehend component datasheets.

Mechanical Aptitude:

Hands-on ability to assemble/disassemble products and a high level of computer literacy (spreadsheets and data tabulation). What Makes You Stand Out 3+ years of hands-on experience in fine-pitch surface mount soldering. Experience running and maintaining 3D printers . Proficiency in PCB layout and machining various materials (aluminum, steel, plastics). Experience with advanced equipment like logic analyzers and spectrum analyzers. Familiarity with John Deere electronic components and machinery.
