Responsibilities Diagnose and repair generator systems, including diesel engines and electrical components, utilizing schematics and technical manuals. Perform routine maintenance on generators and related equipment to prevent downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to execute repairs and modifications accurately. Conduct heavy lifting and mechanical work safely while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards. Collaborate with customers to identify needs, explain repairs, and ensure satisfaction through excellent service. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and parts documentation for each job performed. Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues using schematics and electrical experience to restore generator functionality efficiently. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic with a focus on dealership or automotive repair preferred. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, electrical systems, and mechanical components related to generators. Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment repair, welding, soldering, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Must be able to pass extensive background checks to receive clearance and have access to government sites. Must be able to travel out of town with occasional overnight stays. Knowledge of a variety of generators a plus including but not limited to: Generac, Cummins, Kohler, etc. Pay rate will be determined upon experience, with the ability for pay increase when receiving additional training and certifications
