POSITION SUMMARY
The Bench Technician II is an intermediate-level technician who independently diagnoses and repairs complex slot machine electronic assemblies and mechanical subsystems with minimal supervision. This role carries added responsibility for verifying the work quality of Bench Technician I teammates, providing on-the-job technical guidance, and contributing to SOP development and process improvement initiatives. The Bench Technician II serves as the primary technical resource on the bench floor during daily operations and escalates only the most complex or atypical failures to the Supervisor. All work is performed in full compliance with NGCB regulations and SlotCycle quality standards.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Advanced Diagnostics and Component-Level Repair Perform independent board-level fault isolation and repair on gaming machine mainboards, I/O controllers, power supply units, LCD/touchscreen display assemblies, bill validators (JCM, MEI, Cashcode), and ticket printer mechanisms (JCM, Nanoptix). Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, LCR meters, and component testers to diagnose circuit-level failures including failed voltage regulators, degraded filter capacitors, shorted traces, and failed clock circuits. Perform precision SMD rework including BGA re-balling and reflowing, QFP/SOIC component replacement, and fine-pitch pad repair using hot-air rework stations and soldering microscopes. Read and interpret multi-layer PCB schematics, board layout diagrams, and manufacturer service bulletins to locate and resolve faults not covered by standard SOPs. Diagnose and repair wiring harness failures including intermittent shorts, broken shields, corroded connectors, and failed IDC terminations; fabricate replacement harnesses as needed. Refurbish and calibrate bill validators and ticket printers to factory acceptance specifications using manufacturer test software. Test and Validation Design and execute functional test sequences for repaired assemblies, documenting pass/fail results against manufacturer and SlotCycle acceptance criteria. Operate and configure bench test fixtures, burn-in racks, and power cycling rigs to identify latent failures before assemblies return to inventory. Perform system-level integration tests by assembling components into full gaming machine cabinets and verifying complete unit operation (game boot, attract mode, bill-in, ticket-out, button deck response). Identify and document recurring failure modes; escalate patterns to Supervisor with data to support root cause investigation. Process Compliance and Quality Assurance Review and verify completed work orders submitted by Bench Technician I staff; apply quality-check sign-off before assemblies advance to the next stage. Ensure all SOPs are followed on the bench floor; identify deviations and provide immediate corrective guidance to Tier I technicians. Contribute to the development and revision of SOPs and work instructions; document new repair procedures for novel failure modes encountered. Manage component inventory at the bench level: identify required parts, initiate pull requests from the Materials team, and track parts usage against work orders. Operate and maintain 3D printers used for fabricating replacement brackets, cable guides, and hardware; ensure print specifications meet structural and dimensional requirements. Training and Mentorship of Bench Technician I Staff Provide hands-on instruction and demonstration to Tier I technicians on soldering techniques, test equipment usage, component identification, and SOP application. Identify skill gaps in Tier I technicians through daily observation; communicate findings and training recommendations to Supervisor. Monitor Tier I work quality in real-time; correct errors immediately and explain root cause to support technician skill development. Participate in onboarding of new Tier I hires: orient to bench layout, tools, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Serve as the primary point of escalation for Tier I technicians on tasks outside their current skill level. Safety, Compliance and Administrative Maintain full compliance with NGCB regulations, ESD standards, OSHA requirements, and SlotCycle internal policies. Accurately complete all work orders, repair logs, and quality documentation in a timely manner within SlotCycle systems. Assist Supervisor in daily work allocation as directed; coordinate task sequencing across Tier I staff to meet production schedules. Report equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or safety hazards to Supervisor with sufficient detail to support resolution.

Experience with gaming machine components (mainboards, bill validators, ticket printers) strongly preferred. Prior experience providing technical guidance, training, or QA review for junior technicians preferred. At least 21 years of age. Must obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Work Card and applicable jurisdictional registrations. Valid Driver's License required.
