Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining VFD systems used across our manufacturing and industrial facilities. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of motor control systems, enhance equipment reliability, and support continuous production operations. Responsibilities Install, commission, and calibrate VFD systems in accordance with electrical schematics, technical manuals, and safety standards. Troubleshoot complex issues related to VFDs, sensors, high voltage systems, and distributed control systems using precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Perform routine maintenance on VFDs, motors, sensors, and associated electrical components to prevent downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Read and interpret electrical schematics, AutoCAD drawings, and control system diagrams to diagnose faults accurately. Program and modify programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize motor control functions and integrate with vision inspection systems or CNC machinery. Conduct calibration of sensors and measurement devices to ensure precise operation within manufacturing environments. Support field service activities by troubleshooting on-site issues involving low voltage and high voltage electrical systems in industrial settings. Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades involving E & I (Electrical & Instrumentation), Calypso software, or other automation platforms like Vision Inspection Systems. Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, inspections, and modifications for compliance and future reference. Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols related to high voltage, low voltage, and military-grade standards when applicable. Experience Proven experience working as an industrial electrician or maintenance technician specializing in VFD systems within manufacturing or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, sensors, calibration techniques, and schematics interpretation. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), CNC machinery, and vision inspection systems. Familiarity with AutoCAD for reading electrical drawings and layout plans is highly desirable. Experience working with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems in compliance with safety standards. Background in industrial maintenance involving calibration of precision instruments using ohmmeters or other measurement tools. Knowledge of Calypso automation software or similar platforms used for process control is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently while providing excellent customer service during field service calls. Military experience or background in highly regulated environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
