This position plays a key role in transitioning concepts into manufacturable products through prototype builds, testing, analysis, and validation. The Engineering technician will often assist; interim and long‑term solutions to manufacturing line challenges as well as continual improvement of Tecmotiv's facilities, infrastructure and safety programs. Assist engineers with research, development, and execution of technical solutions. Build, assemble, and modify prototypes, fixtures, and test equipment. Conduct tests, collect data, and perform basic analysis to support engineering decisions. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or process-related issues during prototype and production activities. Document test results, design changes, and assembly procedures. Support validation activities to ensure products meet performance and quality requirements. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Production and Quality Assurance. Maintain lab equipment, tooling, and workspaces in a safe and organized manner. Other company assignments. Requirements of the Job Moderate to advanced metal working, fabrication and welding skills. Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment. Experience with mechanical & electrical assemblies. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. Familiarity with test equipment (e.g. multimeters, scales and torque tools). Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Proficiency in basic computer applications. Ability to lift and handle materials or equipment as needed. Ability to stand, bend, or work with tools for extended periods. Daily combination of lab, shop-floor, and office. Frequent interactions with engineers, technicians and quality assurance External support for vendors and customers. Qualifications Experience with Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, MTU, or similar valued. Knowledge of Allison or Renk transmissions valued. U.S. work authorization required.
