$50,564 - $67,086 annually Agency/Dept.: Transportation Description of Duties This is a technical position involving both field and laboratory/shop assignments in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic traffic equipment. The employee will learn to drive medium and heavy trucks, as well as operate heavy equipment. Work is performed under a variety of conditions such as changing weather, confined spaces (manholes), and heights, and involves shift work. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of an Electronic Foreman or other higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.
HELP PROGRAM
: Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Program. This program streamlines the appointment process to allow Monroe County to hire diverse, qualified permanent employees quickly and without examinations. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus
EITHER:
Graduation with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering Technology, Electronic Technology, or a closely related field; OR, Graduation with an Electronics Technology Certification, plus six (6) months paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in electronic technology•; OR One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in electronic technology•; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above. Electronic technology experience must include troubleshooting and repair to the component level of digital and analog electronics circuits and a variety of electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, Digital Volt Meter (DVMs), spectrum analyzers, (Time Domain Reflectometer (TDRs), and Radio Frequency (RF) signal level meters or the equivalent.
NOTE :
Electronic board assembly work or cabinet/chassis wiring work will not be counted towards experience for this position. Industrial or residential electrical work will also not count as acceptable experience.
