Fiber Splicer Technician Staffworks Group - 3.7 Rochester, NY Job Details Full-time $25 - $50 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Schematics Outdoor work OSHA 10 Driving Manual handling Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer Technician to join our growing telecommunications team. The Fiber Splicer will be responsible for splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fiber optic networks in both aerial and underground environments. The ideal candidate will have experience reading fiber network prints, operating OTDR equipment, and ensuring all work meets industry standards and customer specifications. Responsibilities Perform fusion splicing and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables. Install, terminate, and troubleshoot fiber optic networks. Read and interpret fiber network plans, splice diagrams, and construction prints. Conduct OTDR, power meter, and loss testing to verify network performance. Locate and repair damaged fiber optic cables. Prepare and maintain accurate splice records and as-built documentation. Work on aerial, underground, and inside plant fiber installations. Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures. Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and field crews to complete projects on schedule. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and testing equipment. Qualifications 2+ years of fiber splicing experience required. Experience with fusion splicing equipment and fiber testing tools. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and fiber schematics. Knowledge of telecommunications construction practices. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and climb ladders when necessary. OSHA 10 certification preferred. CDL is a plus but not required. Join our Team!
