Pay:
$32.00/hr - $37.00/hr

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, WFH Thursday and Friday Job Summary:
The Engineering Technologist II provides intermediate-level technical support to engineering teams, with a focus on coordinating and executing engineering permitting activities and supporting CAD-based design work across multiple projects. This role serves as a key resource for standardizing permitting processes (e.g., FAA, railroad, joint-use) and improving efficiency by managing these activities consistently across projects. The ideal candidate brings a solid technical foundation, demonstrated experience in engineering or permitting environments, and the ability to work more independently while collaborating closely with engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead preparation and submission of engineering permits, including FAA, railroad, and related permitting processes Coordinate permitting efforts across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring consistency and compliance Utilize AutoCAD (preferred) or similar CAD software to create, update, and maintain drawings Act as a subject matter resource for permitting workflows, helping reduce redundancy across engineering teams Partner with engineers and project stakeholders to gather inputs and ensure accurate, timely submittals Track permit status, maintain documentation, and manage communications with internal and external stakeholders Identify opportunities to improve and standardize permitting and documentation processes Support additional engineering and technical tasks as needed
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent relevant experience 2+ years of related experience in engineering support, permitting, or technical roles Demonstrated understanding of engineering concepts and project workflows Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools (AutoCAD preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in utilities, infrastructure, or engineering project environments Hands-on experience with permitting processes (engineering, utility, or construction-related) Familiarity with joint-use coordination or similar communication/notification programs Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills Primary Talent Partners is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
