Electrical Technician 1st shift
Pay:
depends on experience Job Description This role supports the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and electrical systems. The I&E Technician focuses on instrument calibration, valve diagnostics and rebuilds, and electrical maintenance. The position requires a hands-on, safety-focused professional who can maintain critical process equipment to ensure reliable plant operation. Responsibilities Perform calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of process instrumentation, including pressure, flow, level, and temperature devices, to ensure accuracy and reliability. Conduct loop checks, functional testing, and preventive maintenance on control systems to maintain stable and safe operations. Maintain detailed calibration documentation and ensure compliance with site standards and procedures. Diagnose, repair, and rebuild control valves and actuators, including electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic types. Troubleshoot valve positioners, limit switches, solenoids, and associated control components to restore proper function. Perform valve stroke testing and calibration checks to verify correct operation and response. Troubleshoot and maintain AC motors, motor control systems, and electrical distribution equipment such as panels, switchgear, and breakers. Diagnose and repair control panels, relays, wiring, and electrical circuits to resolve equipment and system issues. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant electrical systems to support continuous and reliable operation. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment uptime and reliability. Read and interpret electrical and instrumentation schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs to plan and execute work safely and accurately. Work safely in a refinery environment, following all site policies, procedures, and safety practices. Essential Skills Previous I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) experience. Strong hands-on experience with instrument calibration and troubleshooting for pressure, flow, level, and temperature instruments. Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding control valves and actuators, including electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic types. Ability to troubleshoot valve positioners, limit switches, solenoids, and related control components. Experience working with AC motors, motor control systems, and electrical distribution equipment such as panels, switchgear, and breakers. Ability to diagnose and repair control panels, relays, wiring, and electrical circuits. Proven experience performing electrical maintenance on plant electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
