This candidate will be responsible for OSP and ISP projects involving data center hyperscale new builds and emergency fiber maintenance throughout the Columbus, OH area. Responsibilities of Fiber Splicer Install and maintain equipment of the fiber broadband network Cross-connect fiber distribution frames and testing of fiber optic cables Locate underground fiber-optic cables Fiber optic splicing, including high-count loose tube, ribbon, and fusion splicing and splice closure Splicing cut sheets and splicing diagrams. Preform preventive maintenance of the fiber network (aerial and underground) Operate bucket truck safety and climb ladders Track material usage Qualifications of the Fiber Splicer Skills in basic electricity and electronics. Skills in high-count ribbon and loose tube splicing practices. Skills in basic knowledge of computer programs. Skills led in basic safety principles. Ability to communicate effectively with employees across departments Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects.
