Job Description

Electrical & Instrumentation Technician The E&I Technician works closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, safety, and operations. The position reports directly to the E&I Maintenance Supervisor located in McArthur, Ohio. Responsibilities and Duties Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems up to 480V. Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, ohm meters, and other diagnostic tools. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on motors, drives, and MCCs. Troubleshoot and repair VFDs and motor control circuits. Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation. Perform loop checks, instrument calibrations, and verification of control system functionality. Education and Experience Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an I&E technician, controls technician, automation technician, or similar role. Experience working with industrial PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and instrumentation. Proficiency with multimeters and diagnostic tools. Familiarity with CMMS systems and reliability-centered maintenance practices. Experience with industrial communication protocols preferred. Experience with robotics preferred. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Electrical and instrumentation systems troubleshooting and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, loop drawings, technical manuals, and ladder logic. Ability to assemble, troubleshoot, and repair complex automated machines. Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, transmitters, and control loops. Strong mechanical and electrical skills, including electromechanical assemblies. Work Environment This position operates on a swing shift schedule , providing coverage across varying shifts to support Helix and overall plant operations. This position requires no travel. Time will be spent in all areas of the plant, both indoors and outdoors, in all-weather elements.
