Position Summary TechR2 seeks a results-driven Equipment / Systems Maintenance Technician who is a self‑starter, comfortable with travel, and is responsible for building, servicing, and maintaining all TechR2 equipment and systems. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and operational inspections on a wide range of data destruction and degaussing equipment. Maintaining detailed repair procedures and maintenance documentation for all equipment, keeping comprehensive repair logs, and maintaining an up-to-date library of manufacturer diagrams, manuals, and technical references for rapid troubleshooting and support. Coordinates directly with manufacturers to procure spare parts, arrange factory repairs when required, complete repair requisitions, and obtain appropriate approvals.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repair Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and operational inspections on all TechR2 data destruction, degaussing, and related equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-system faults, and complete repairs to restore equipment to service. Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) on recurring or critical failures and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce downtime. Calibrate, adjust, and test equipment to manufacturer specifications and TechR2 quality and performance standards. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals to support rapid troubleshooting. Fabricate, modify, or machine replacement components as needed (where qualified) to keep equipment operational. Documentation & Parts Management Maintain repair-process documentation for each type of repair and maintenance procedure. Keep detailed repair logs for every piece of equipment, including work performed, parts used, and downtime. Maintain a complete, current library of manufacturer diagrams, manuals, and technical references for quick access. Track and manage spare-parts inventory, including reorder points, to ensure critical parts availability. Coordinate with manufacturers to procure spare parts, arrange factory repairs, complete requisitions, and obtain required approvals. Maintain maintenance records in the designated system (e.g., CMMS or equivalent) for PM scheduling, work orders, and asset history. Safety, Compliance & Data Security Enforce safe operation of all TechR2 machinery and systems and promote strong safety Maintain a laminated process and safety reference card with every TechR2 machine and system. Support facility management in following proper operating procedures, workplace-safety requirements, and regulatory compliance. Reporting & Continuous Improvement Attend Council Meetings to provide equipment-readiness, efficiency, and reliability reports. Submit scheduled reports to the Operations and Compliance departments. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, 5S, reliability programs) to improve uptime and process efficiency. Equipment Scope The technician builds, maintains, and performs scheduled maintenance checks on the following TechR2 products and equipment
Qualifications:
Education Required:
High school diploma or GED, plus completion of a recognized technical/vocational training program in a relevant field, OR an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
Preferred:
Associate degree (2-year) in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Electromechanical / Mechatronics Technology, Industrial Technology Required Qualifications (Minimum) Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience, including work with machine tools and electromechanical equipment. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and equipment manuals. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with proven troubleshooting and repair skills. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments. Ability to read, comprehend, and apply technical and safety documentation Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using maintenance-tracking software. Ability to perform the physical demands of the role with or without reasonable accommodation. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen. Skills & Core Competencies Analytical problem-solving and disciplined troubleshooting under time pressure. Attention to detail and strong documentation habits. Effective time and resource management; ability to prioritize during equipment downtime. Collaboration across diverse, cross-functional teams Clear written and verbal communication, including report writing for leadership. Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Willingness to travel (up to 50%). Training & Certifications Safety & Compliance OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry training (Preferred).

Electrical Safety / Arc Flash awareness (for work on energized equipment). Professional Development Annual continuing education on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and maintenance standards. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Proficiency with hardware installation, diagnostics, and network configuration. Skilled in problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in physically demanding environments. Working Conditions Frequent out of state travel (50-70% on average but could be up to 100%) to client and data center locations. Work performed in mixed environments including warehouse, office, and data center settings. Exposure to varying weather conditions during transport and delivery operations. Occasional work outside standard business hours to meet client deadlines. Must adhere to all company safety policies, security standards, and DOT regulations. May be required to participate in on-call rotations or emergency deployments.
Payrate:
